Archy has a powerful, easy to use site builder for your website’s pages. With the site builder you can customise your existing pages and even create new site pages without any coding. We’ll get you started by showing you how to edit your school’s homepage.
- Step one - Navigate to your page settings
You’ll find the setting for your domain in “Your Site”, and then by navigating to “pages” in the top menu. - Step two - Page selection
Archy will automatically create three default pages for your site. A homepage, terms and conditions page and a privacy policy page. These pages are filled with placeholder content and we recommend writing your own content for your pages.
Once you’ve navigated to these settings, click “edit” on your homepage. The Archy Site Builder will launch. - Step three - Using the site builder
Once the site builder has loaded, you’ll see that on the left you have a menu of “Page blocks”, a settings cog in the top of this section, your live page preview in the middle of the page and three buttons: a refresh icon, a “preview” button, and a “save” button.
- Page Blocks: You can add in as many page blocks as you’d like and you can change a block’s position on the page by simply clicking and dragging it up or down the order of blocks.
- Adding, duplicating, and deleting blocks: You can add in more blocks by clicking “Add new block” at the bottom of the block menu. The site builder will then list the block library. You can preview if a block is what you’re looking for by clicking it - the site builder will place the block on your site page. If correct, click “Add” next to the block you’re previewing.
You can also duplicate and delete blocks by clicking on the three dots next to each block, a drop down menu of items will appear.
- Block Design settings: Each block has multiple design settings which can be changed. By clicking into a block, you’ll have a second tab called “design”. This section is best used for block colour, font colour, padding and max-width settings.
- Live elements: If you’re not sure which block is which, you can simply click anywhere in your live site preview to activate the settings for the corresponding block.
- Preview: If, at any time, you’d like to preview how your site looks to the public, click on “preview”.
